From January 15th to 17th, 2024, Consul General Yan Yuqing and her delegation from the Chinese Consulate General in Lagos paid a friendly visit to Yongxing Steel Company in Nigeria.
Accompanied by Mr. Zhang Xianghai, the General Manager of Yongxing Steel Company, and Mr. Wang Quanfa, the Executive Vice General Manager, Consul General Yan and her delegation gained deep insights into the company's operations. They toured the production workshops, factory premises, cafeteria, and dormitories. Consul General Yan highly praised the company's management philosophy and corporate culture, expressing hopes for the company to continue contributing to China-Nigerian economic and trade cooperation.
On January 16th, Consul General Yan Yuqing, together with Mr. Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State, as witnesses, attended the online signing ceremony for the tripartite cooperation agreement between Yongxing Company, Fuzhou Vocational and Technical College, and Edo State Polytechnic, Nigeria. This agreement aimed to promote cooperation in the field of education and provide more opportunities for friendly exchanges between young people from China and Nigeria.
Additionally, Consul General Yan visited Edo State Polytechnic and engaged in friendly exchanges with local faculty and students. At the Benin National Museum, she gained in-depth insights into the history and culture of the ancient Benin Kingdom, showing keen interest in Edo State's cultural heritage.
This visit provided an important opportunity to deepen friendship and enhance mutual understanding. The visit by Consul General Yan and her delegation not only promoted friendly relations between China and Nigeria but also injected new vitality into the exchange and cooperation between Yongxing Steel Company and the local government and community in Nigeria.
