While the Ethiopian aviation incident happened, a group of Chinese called "African-drifters" have come into the public eye. Now, I am one of them.
When I reached Nigeria, everything was new; the exotic city, dark skin people, food I'd never seen before, local products etc. In the views of most people in the world, Africa is called as backwardness, poverty, disease and war. Actually, after landing Africa, I found that working in Africa is not as terrible as I thought.
Our company, Nigeria Yongxing Steel Co., Ltd. which is located in Benin City. There are kind leaders and passionate colleagues. I have gradually adapted and enjoyed the work and life as a production clerk in one month.
As a production clerk, my daily work is to type and analyze the production data, feedback the production situation, and do the monthly wages. The work entails a lot of data, which requires the staff to work prudently, meanwhile, it requires background knowledge of the production procedure and equipment.
The first month was for getting more work skills from your mistakes, checking yourself to get a wit for moving forward. In those period, leaders and colleagues helped and guided me to build the direction of my endeavor and study. Working and living here makes me complete. Every day, new thing fills me up. As the words were spoken by leader, we are here, to work for ourselves, for money. What you have learned from the company, nobody can take it away from you.
Hopefully, I can get what I want when time goes to say goodbye!
